What is an Awareness Through Movement® class/ lesson?
The practitioner leads you verbally through an active movement process with the aim of learning to move more comfortably and with greater ease. You explore at your own pace, according to your unique needs and abilities. In the lesson, you learn how to move easily, comfortably and effortlessly.
A lesson generally lasts 60 minutes.
How does it work?
In an Awareness Through Movement® lesson you are verbally guided through a sequence of movements in a variety of basic positions: lying or sitting on the floor on a soft mat, sitting on a chair and sometimes standing. These structured movement explorations involve moving, thinking, feeling and sensing. By increasing your awareness, you will learn to recognise your habitual patterns of movement and develop new alternatives, resulting in improved flexibility, coordination and deepening the understanding of self.

These floor classes are designed to help you learn how to use your body and brain to improve your posture, feel stronger, be more flexible and balanced in everything you do.
